About Us
Our Story
Grug's Thugs was established to honor the enduring memory of the late great Steve Taylor, affectionately known as "Grug" by his grandchildren, family, and close friends (aka his "Thugs"). Steve was a dedicated professional driver and an avid recreational enthusiast. He proudly served as an Engineer with the Healdsburg and Dry Creek Fire Departments and worked extensively as a commercial truck driver.
Outside of his professional life, Steve enjoyed off-road racing, 4x4 rock climbing, and driving a wide variety of race cars and carts.
Driving was truly his passion and his sanctuary. We know he would want to see that passion passed on to the next generation.
Our Mission
We believe in the power of possibility. Our mission is to break down financial barriers and open the road to opportunity by providing access to driver's training for youth in need. Driving isn't just a skill—it's a steppingstone to independence, confidence, and a brighter future. By helping young people earn their licenses earlier, we help unlock pathways to meaningful employment, especially in fields where driving is a requirement of the job. Together, we are creating safer roads, building stronger communities, and changing lives, one young driver at a time.
